Car battery

Before replacing your battery, read the test report

By JumpstartJi · Published 20 October 2026

Understand what a printed battery test report adds to a replacement decision.

A car that will not start does not automatically need a new battery. JumpstartJi tests the battery first and gives you a printed report. The point is simple: replace only if needed.

Ask to see the result

Keep the printout and ask the technician to explain the result and the recommended next step. Do not decide from a single unfamiliar number without that explanation.

Check the proposed replacement

If replacement is needed, match the model, terminals and mounting. Check the model label, serial number and manufacturing date, and keep your purchase proof.

Understand the warranty

Free replacement and pro-rata are different stages. During pro-rata, you pay a share. Check the selected model’s terms. Warranty is not a promise of how long a battery will last.

The useful question

“Can you show me the test result and explain why this battery needs replacing?”
